Cheshire Home Mumbai was established in the year 1955 by Late Group
Captain Leonard Cheshire V.C., U.K. Cheshire Home Mumbai is the first
home outside the U.K. set up as a residential care for terminally ill and
disabled men with no means or support.
With time, Cheshire Home Mumbai has grown and evolved into a
comprehensive need based service provider to children and adults with
disabilities in Mumbai and the suburbs.

Cheshire Home’s premises at Mahakali caves road today houses the facilities like

  • The Residential Quarters for men With Disabilities
  • Handicraft Workshop for Residential care Beneficiaries
  •  Therapy Centre providing Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy services to
    Children with Disabilities
  • Skills Training Centre and a Computer Lab for Training of Youth with Disabilities,
  • Day Care Centre Providing Special Education Services to Children with Disabilities
  • A Sensory Garden for Children with Disabilities
  • Organic Vegetable Garden and Composting Facility
  • Center for Empowerment of Mothers of Children with Disabilities (Tailoring Unit)
